One of my favourite walks: a gentle climb through cool forest followed by a steep scramble through heathland to the iron-age hill-fort on the summit, a major viewpoint and best of all not another person or k9 seen all afternoon.

Garn Boduan is the [almost] mountain that looms above Nefyn. It is the middle one of Lleyn's 3 iron-age hill-forts, all on the summits of extinct [obviously] volcanos. The others are Tre'r Ceiri which I climbed last year and Carn Fadryn which I intend to "bag" next time.

1 Cuckoo in burnt trees just below summit

1 Green Woodpecker

1 Small Heath

1 Wall Brown

2+ Red Admirals at summit

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Nightjars once bred here. It looks ideal for them.
