I have lived on the central coast of California my entire life. I have lead trips for the Santa Cruz Bird Club, local Audubon chapters, birding festivals and national conferences in the area. I have also served as a birding docent trainer for local environmental groups and reserves and as a marine naturalist for Monterey Bay Whale Watch. I have seabirded from the Bering Straight to the Sea of Cortez where I lead trips on a live-aboard boat. I am the coordinator for Monterey Seabirds and have helped lead 40 trips on the bay in the last 3 years.
