Dog Park Fun and Birding

Sarah and I took Andie to the Hondo Dog Park yesterday. Before entering the play area, we walked along the wetland and spotted many green-winged teal, cackling geese, a few mallards and shovelers, and a kestrel.

During the dog play, the flock of cacklers near the stadium was flushed and flew overhead, their calls drowning out the barks and snarls of the happy dogs.
Andie has a favorite game to play at the park: Chase the other dogs while they try to play fetch. She especially likes to interfere with medium-sized dogs like herself that are trying to retrieve a ball. This game is very entertaining for us and good exercise for her, but a big annoyance for the other dogs.
