State Birds in the Sun!

After a long vacation, the sun has returned to western Oregon, if only for a few days. Yesterday, Andie and I took our usual walk through the cloverfield and found a pair of western meadowlarks, the first I've seen in our neighborhood!. Perhaps not coincidentally, the local starlings have been performing some excellent meadowlark song imitations.


The meadowlarks are somewhere between me and the oak tree.




Andie was hot on their tracks...
