Hakodate Birding

More migrants

After the Osprey and Stonechats this morning I took advantage of the sunny weather to check out a few places around town. At Kamiso there were all the species from Wednesday and Thursday including the Black Throated Diver and Glaucous Gull and Waxwings. 2 Common Sandpiper were the first waders of the year. Lots of stuff offshore including a large flock of Swans but they were too far out to ID which species. At the cape I saw the first Rhinoceros Auklet of the year and far out at sea I could just about ID some Kittiwake as well as some unidentifiable Grebes and Divers.
This is a view of Hakodate from the forest at the bottom of Hakodateyama this afternoon.
