More migrants in northern Japan

Posted in Unspecified
One of the advantages of a) living on the southern tip of a large island that is good for migrants in spring and autumn and b) being not over successfully self employed and having lots of free time is that I can just pop out and see interesting stuff near my flat.Took a quick look in the bushes near the local river today for migrants skulking around. Nothing terribly exciting today though (I've had Siberian Rubythroat and Wryneck near my place in recent years). Bird of the day was an Arctic Warbler (or at least I'm pretty sure it was-tricky things these small warblers). Also in the same vicinity were a female Red Flanked Bluetail, a couple of Japanese Bush Warblers, a Black Faced Bunting, a few Dusky Thrush, a Bull Headed Shrike and several Red Cheeked Starling.
