Hakodate Birding

birds on their summer break

Posted in Unspecified

Not a terribly good pic. A Grey Heron at Yakumo this morning. The pic sums up my state of mind this morning. Grey, a bit fuzzy and pretty miserable. After watching England go out on penalties yet again I had a nasty hangover and there weren't so many birds around. the usual singing Warblers weren't singing so much and there were various fledglings of various species around. A few Goosander, Wigeon and Little Ringed Plover and lots of Grey Heron were on the river. Last week in Hakodate Bull Headed Shrike, Red Cheeked Starling and Oriental Great Reed Warbler all seemed to be feeding youngsters on the river near my flat.

Hope Rooney stamps on Ronaldo's groin in pre-season training.
