Great White Egret

Posted in Unspecified

1 of 3 Great White Egrets at Kamiso this afternoon. A very mild late Autumn day (17 degrees C) too. 6 species of Gull and 10 species of Duck were also present but not much out at sea. The Egret was my 140th local patch bird of the year (not that I'm a sad bas#*rd obsessed with lists or anything).

Took a drive out to Shikabe via Onuma. Not much here either. The Whooper Swans haven't arrived at Onuma yet. There were some common woodland species present-Eurasian Jay, LongTailed, Varied and Marsh Tit, Treecreeper and Common Nuthatch.

I've been listening to a lot of Frank Black recently especially the album "Black Letter Days" and another current fave is Aphex Twin's "Ageispolis". Showing my age a bit now.
