Hakodate Birding

a lousy pic of some Gulls

Posted in Unspecified

A quick look at the fishing harbour in Hakodate today saw the usual bird suspects around:Harlequin Duck (which was really difficult to photograph as they stayed around the breakwaters in perpetual shade), the regular flock of Brent Goose and lots and lots of Gulls. This lousy pic is of the 2 commonest. The bigger one is a Slaty Backed Gull and the smaller one is a Black tailed Gull. There are usually more interesting Gull species around. But not today. Afterwards went to Yamada Denki ( a big electrics chain) to buy a case for my ipod (which would have cost about $10). I came out with a brand new laptop for the wife costing about $1600.
