Peregrine

Posted in Unspecified

Well it wasn't snowing today so had a quick walk along the river. Not exactly teeming with birdlife again though there was a flock of 14 Oriental Greenfinch presumably on their way south. And over 20 Dusky Thrush too. Lots of berries on the trees-in 2003/2004 there were huge flocks of Bohemian and Japanese Waxwing feeding on these. Best bird of the morning was a male Peregrine being mobbed by a Jungle Crow. The falcon seemed to be carrying a pigeon in its talons. Maybe the Crow wanted a bit too.
