not many birds from hospital window

Posted in Unspecified

Just been discharged from hospital after 8 days that varied from extreme discomfort to complete boredom. A Slaty Backed Gull roosted on the balcony just near my hospital bed and I could also see Black Kite wheeling about. Oh and lots of Jungle and Carrion Crows. Otherwise my entertainment was provided by my new ipod (Ricky Gervais podcasts and music by DJ Shadow and Lemonjelly among others) and no less than 5 novels (ranging from Ian Banks sci-fi stuff to the latest trashy Crichton and that "big year" book about those rich American birders). Had a knee op so can't really walk but have a day off tommorrow-looks like my only birds will be from my balcony.
