MEGA - YELLOW WARBLER on Cape Clear Island
A first-winter female YELLOW WARBLER is present for its third day on Cape Clear Island (Co. Cork), where it is frequenting a clump of Sallows and Willows in the Loch Errul area, giving brief but good views before disappearing for fairly lengthy periods. Viewing is easy and from the road. It was still showing as recently as 1130 hours.
It represents the first record for the island (species 301) and only the THIRD FOR IRELAND.
Cape Clear Island is readily served by a host of small vessels, with up to 7 sailings a day from Baltimore. Prices range from 15 euros return.
