We may be on for yet another Record Year

With the addition of a further sumptous and mouthwatering list of vagrants in the past ten days, the total number of species now recorded in Britain and Ireland in 2008 has risen to an incredible 423 species - just 11 short of last year's record 434.
 
The 11 new additions are -:
 
PECHORA PIPIT - one on Shetland yesterday
AMERICAN BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT - on St Kilda
RED-FLANKED BLUETAIL - 3 on the Northern Isles
SIBERIAN STONECHAT - 1 on Fair Isle and 2 in Norfolk
WHITE'S THRUSH - Inishbofin in County Galway
SIBERIAN THRUSH - male on Fair Isle
SYKES'S BOOTED WARBLER - Sumburgh Farm (Shetland)
RADDE'S WARBLER - influx of 7+
ASIATIC BROWN FLYCATCHER - first-winter on Fair Isle
BROWN SHRIKE - adult male at Flamborough Head
BOBOLINK - on Foula
