In what has been the largest influx of TENGMALM'S OWLS into Southern Sweden since 1967, a total of 89 individuals have been trapped and ringed at Falsterbo Bird Observatory since early September (see:  http://www.skof.se/fbo/index_e.html.

 

It is therefore most likely that at least one of these attractive boreal owls will eventually make landfall in Britain (should the wind direction ever swing back from the east before December). Let's just hope it doesn't make landfall at Spurn Point or at South Herston in Orkney !!
