Little Blue Heron in Carmarthenshire - Saturday 25 October

Despite the presence of over 350 desperately-seeking British twitchers from all points north, east and west, there has been no sign thus far today of the juvenile LITTLE BLUE HERON present on the Gwendraeth Estuary for just over an hour yesterday. Speaking to local observers, it seems likely that the bird will reappear on the afternoon tide, perhaps revisiting the pool it favoured yesterday afternoon, just beyond the railway. The optimum period today will be between 1400 and 1600 hours.

Meanwhile, an observer present whilst others were on site has reported to have seen the putative SIBERIAN THRUSH again 3 miles east of Rhayader (Powys), again in the grounds of Nantmel Garden Centre. The site has very limited access and parking is very restricted. Birders are still currently on site and apart from this one guy (who is reporting a bird of first-winter male description rather than female), nobody has seen anything of interest.
