More New Birds

A juvenile American Black Tern was seen for around an hour at mid-day in North Bay, South Uist (Outer Hebrides) before flying off east on 17 November,. constituting only the second confirmed record for Britain. It also becomes species number 442 for 2008.

Today, North Uist has played host to a shrike species, either ISABELLINE or BROWN (see image on BirdGuides) at Callernish. If it does prove to be an Isabelline, that too is the first for 2008.

Could this year ever be beaten?
