Dont know what this little chap had done, but in this pic was getting a right telling off.

northern giant petrels have a reddish brown bill tip and southern giant petrels (macronectes giganteus) have pale green bill tip.

bird island south georgia. I was very lucky and honoured to be able to get ashore there. Am i right in thinking you serve on HMS Endurance. if so have a picture of her off bird island with big mac in for ground if you would like a copy let me know.

Hi Mick.

I do serve on the ship. She is currently tied up in Pompey awaiting her fate. Unfortunately it is not looking good. Still awaiting a final decision on what will actually happen. It would be interesting to see the picture. Alan has my e-mail.
