Sat-19-Sep-2009 - flying steamer duck (Tachyeres patachonicus)

found this pair of flying steamer ducks on one of the ponds down by stanley airport this afternoon while out for a couple of hours. Not that common in the falklands prob only see a hand full of these a year.

also saw speckled teal, crested duck,silver teal,falkland steamer duck,kelp goose, upland goose, ruddy headed goose, dark faced ground tyrant, falkland thrush, falkland pipit, long-tailed meadow lark, kelp gull, dolphin gull, turkey vulture and giant petrel (prob southern).
