2 small waders flew up with Lapwings from mud at north end of causeway and continued east. Call similar to Dunlin but sounded thinner and less harsh. Wings looked longer, narrower and more angled like Ringed Plover. These were almost certainly Curlew Sandpipers but impossible to be 100% sure on views obtained.

1 Sandwich Tern performed a few spectacular plunge-dives into res. 4 around 1015 hrs then departed west-south-west. The last site record was almost exactly 2 yrs ago, 2 west on 18 September 2002

The Red-breasted Goose has moved to Martin Mere WWT for the winter with the 51 feral Barnacle Geese that spent the summer here, a migration of 15 miles... in the wrong direction !
