| We know you work hard on your blog, so now Surfbirds is giving you the opportunity to earn revenue from it. By placing Pay-Per-Click ads at the bottom of your blog entries, you can earn money from every ad that is clicked on. You get 100% of the revenue. Surfbirds does not charge any fee or take a commission from you. The advantage of Surfbirds Blogs over Blogspot or any other blogging community is that you have instant access to a targeted community of 30,000+ birders who visit every week.
To get started, you must sign up with either Google Adsense and or Chitika only through one of the links below. Click on one of the banners below. It may take several days to be approved and Google and Chitika will want to see evidence that you have regular, updated and relevant content. Once you have been approved, you will have access to the code you can place on your blog to start displaying Pay-Per-Click ads.

You must follow the terms of service. Fraudulent clicks or misleading copy around the ads (telling your visitors to click on the ads), will result in Google and Chitika suspending you.

Where Do I Put The Code?
You can place the code wherever you like. You can either copy and paste it to the bottom of each of your entries or you can "edit template" and place it along the side or across the top of your blog. Experiment with different sized ads and different colors. The ads should be positioned so that they can be seen clearly but try to blend them in with your content. Internet readers often have "ad blindness" so the better the ads blend in with your site, the better they will perform. You must follow the terms of service. Fraudulent clicks or misleading copy around the ads (telling your visitors to click on the ads), will result in Google and Chitika suspending you.
I update my blog regularly, I have added the code, now what?
The more visitors who come to your blog, the more revenue you will earn from it. Regular and interesting entries will create a loyal readership from the Surfbirds audience, but sometimes you will need to do a little promotion yourself.
* Use a local newsgroup to tell others about interesting updates (click here for a list of some newsgroups or search for a local Yahoo! birding group). Do not email too often as you may become a nuisance or even be seen as a Spammer.
* Email other webmasters for a link to your blog (The web address of your blog is clearly displayed at the top of the page after you log-in). The more links in to your blog the higher the page rank you will get from Google.
Unfortunately, it appears that pay per click ads can only be placed on blogs created after August 2005
