60 sanderling and 1 turnstone in amongst 90 Dunlin and 10 ringed plover on Long Strand this morning were both welcome additions to the patch year list (104).

A ruddy shelduck flew over Galley Head this evening and was relocated at Rosscarbery briefly, before it flew off again. Also at Rosscarbery were adult, 1st summer & juvenile mediterranean gulls, c.25 dunlin and 3 greenshank.

A half hour seawatch off Galley this evening produced good numbers of manx shearwaters and 2 bonxies. | Other Irish news

Things sound like they are picking up Col, should pick up a Pec or two soon. Not much happening here, all quiet on the eastern front. Am going to go birding on Sat morning if I can, have a look at some waders and see what's happening. Thinking of ditching the tripod and getting something lighter while I am here, too much hassle carrying around the behemouth that I have!!

Hope all is well and I'll chat to you soon

COL, that Ruddy Shelduck may have been the real deal...apparently there are birds turning up in Britain at the moment...did you catch up with it?

Later, don't forget to clean out the kitty litter!!!
