A pelagic trip out of Unionhall this morning was a bit disappointing, with 4 sooty shearwaters, 2 bonxies, 4 arctic terns and c.80 storm petrels the bird highlights, although the Murphy's in Dinty's pub afterwards was good too. A 3rd year glaucous gull was loitering on the pier with other gulls. | Other Irish news

Hi Col,
That pub was grand if you had a seat! No fun standing in the way by the bar or the front door!

Oh, and there were still 2 Common Whitethroats at Galley, looked like 1st-winters. Usual spot.

hey fella, pity about the pelagic, you must have been disappointed. Thanks for letting me know about the blog, I think it's ok now so if it's not, just let me know. No pratincoles but 2 stonking painted snipe (photos on blog) and a Latham's snipe but no photos of that. 2 lifers today and I got even better views of another Long-toed stint so I was delighted. Plenty to see and this place Ogura looks wicked for the winter. Hard work but could be very rewarding.
Hope all's well, say hi to Claire for me and rub the kittens for me too :) I'm shattered and fit for bed!!
Have you been talking to C? he's due to leave today isn't he, for Iceland?
