The last seawatch of the year?

Went to the bridges on saturday in a good strong northwesterly.
It was a very impressive skua seawatch with great numbers of bonxies, arctic and pomarine skuas.Unfortunately we left before the only 2 long tailed skuas of the day went by..but thems the breaks.
There were also great numbers of leaches petrels and grey phalaropes, and all species gave great views in very close.
Manx numbers were very poor with just 15 in the entire day.

We heard the following day that over 1700 great shearwaters went through in a south westerly...that would have been nice.

On sunday i went down to galley head with very little to show for the experience other than an impressive aerial dogfight betwen a merlin, sparrowhawk and a kestrel.

The lesser yellowlegs was still present in whites marsh along with the bright juv little stint.

A curlew sand was the best at roscarberry.
