July started off very well, as it often does.
Myself, SR and HH, nipped down to galley ridiculously early in the morning for a seawatch.
The weather conditions were not bad for this and we managed 4 Sooty Shearwaters, 7 Pomarin Skuas of varying ages and Plumages, 2 Arctic Skuas, 1 pale phase and one dark phase. But the star of the show was a Stunning Adult Long Tailed Skua.A very Rare Bird for Cork and a Cork tick for myself and the 2 lads.
Indeed Sean ticked all four skuas in the one day...from Cork!!!
Excellent morning it has to be said.
On sunday i went solo down to Ballycotton.
Veryt little doing here, just 1 dunlin, 2 Bar tailed godwits, 3 Greenshank and a water rail.
The hide in bally vergan produced 1 reed warbler foraging around the pool.
