Dotterel
An early morning look again at the Tremlett`s Marsh got me 2 YELLOW WAGTAIL one on the ground and another flying over , while I was there a SPARROWHAWK flew fast across the marsh and caught an unlucky STARLING , the adult OSPREY was again on show today on the Clyst Estuary along with a few GREENSHANK & COMMON SANDPIPER .
News then came out of a DOTTEREL near the coast path at Axmouth so Brian Heasman & myself went off to look for it & we were in luck but the bird was quite distant at first but then came a lot closer & great views were had of this smart looking bird .

Early Avocet ?
A TAWNY OWL was calling outside my house in the early hours of the morning from Topsham Cemetery , later in the day there was a lone juvenile YELLOW WAGTAIL in with the cows on Tremlett`s Marsh & a look at the Clyst Estuary got me the adult OSPREY , 13 returning AVOCET , 4 juvenile CURLEW SANDPIPER & a summer plumaged GREY PLOVER .

Much of the same !!!
There was not a lot different around today but a WHINCHAT on Tremlett`s Marsh made a nice change ! & a look at the Clyst Estuary got me the adult OSPREY that was sat on the old ships mast , 15 LAPWING , 4 GREENSHANK , a COMMON SANDPIPER & over 40 LITTLE EGRET flew out of Bowling Green Marsh & down the Clyst .

Tremlett`s Marsh
A look around the Tremlett`s Marsh/River Clyst area between 7-7.30 this morning got me 3 LITTLE EGRET , 10 LAPWING , 6 COMMON SANDPIPER , 2 GREEN SANDPIPER , 1 WHIMBREL , 2 YELLOW WAGTAIL , a COMMON BUZZARD & this OSPREY that flew over the marsh before heading out over Topsham .

Yellow Wagtail
There was 20+ PIED WAGTAIL & 3 Juvenile YELLOW WAGTAIL in with the cows on Tremlett`s Marsh this morning & a look on the River Clyst got me half a dozen COMMON SANDPIPER , a GREEN SANDPIPER , a GREENSHANK & this obliging DUNLIN .
Later in the day there was still two Osprey fishing on the Exe Estuary the adult that has been coming to the old ships mast on the Clyst Estuary with the fish it catches & a juvenile bird !
The only other thing of note today was a Weasel that dashed across Old Rydon Lane in Exeter this afternoon , my first of the year .

Osprey
The highlight today was three OSPREY an adult & two juveniles seen between Bowling Green Marsh & the Clyst & Exe Estuary`s & they put on quite a show for the birders on the viewing platform , & while I was there a flash of Blue shot passed me & a KINGFISHER was soon seen sat on the trees overhanging the Clyst .
Not much else to talk about today only qiute a few HOUSE MARTIN zooming over the marsh & some WILLOW WARBLER & CHIFFCHAFF in the trees by the platform .

Curlew Sandpiper
An early morning look at the Exminster Marshes got me a distant OSPREY , a PEREGRINE FALCON , a Juvenile YELLOW WAGTAIL & a GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER .
The next stop was at Dawlish Warren & a look at the sea produced numerous GANNET , 10 SANDWICH TERN , 6 COMMON TERN , a single ARCTIC TERN & 2 ARCTIC SKUA , a look at the waders then got us numerous RINGED PLOVER & DUNLIN , 20+ SANDERLING , 5 WHIMBREL & my first two CURLEW SANDPIPER of the year .
Also seen were a few Southern Hawker Dragonflies that started buzzing around once the sun came out , & this smart looking Wasp Spider .
