Posted by: Liz Welch at September 6, 2004 11:14 AMpLEASE HELP WE HAVE FOUND A VERY UNUSUAL MOTH IN EAST DEVON, WE HAVE ESTABLISHED THAT IT IS A MOTHBUT CANNOT IDENTIFY WHAT SORT, IT IS SHAPED LIKE A LEAVE, THE WING ARE JAGGED AND FACE UPWARDS, THE COLOUR IS REDDISH BROWN AND IT IS APPROX 3 CM LONG AND 1 CM HIGH,IT HAS BLACK LEGS

Just seen my first Jersey Tiger> found it on the house wall -south facing - drying out after a downpour.
Bishopsteignton, South Devon village overlooking the river Teign
After lots of searching the internet, I have finally identified two Jersey Tiger moths that I have had in my garden. These were also on a south facing wall possibly drying out after some rain. This is in Exmouth, East Devon.
