Today I got a call from Matt Knot telling me that there was a HOODED CROW on Exminster Marshes so I shot off over to there to see if I could see it .
I walked along the top path towards the Turf Hotel & the bird was on the far end of the marsh with some CARRION CROW & ROOK , it is only the 2nd one that I have seen in Devon , I also saw a Juvenile YELLOW WAGTAIL & a SWALLOW on the marsh .
I then went to Bowling Green Marsh in Topsham to look for a reported Curlew Sandpiper but couldn`t find it ! but I did see 2 LITTLE GREBE a LITTLE EGRET & these 3 Juvenile GARGANEY .
This afternoon I went down to the Marshes on the Axe Estuary at the Colyford Common Reserve to look for the CATTLE EGRET that was seen there yesterday .
I found it on the Marshes on the other side of the Tram track in with 6 LITTLE EGRET & a GREY HERON & managed to get these 2 shots of it , I wish that I could have got better ones ! but what with the distance & heat haze I was lucky to get any at all .
Also seen was a GREEN WOODPECKER & a STOCK DOVE .
Today I went down to Bowling Green Marsh to see if the Marsh Sandpiper was still there news was that it was still there but had flow off before I got there .
But there was a GREEN SANDPIPER , 2 LITTLE EGRET , a STOCK DOVE & this Female PEREGRINE FALCON that every now & then flew across the marsh putting everything up .
And on the Clyst Estuary there were 2 COMMON SANDPIPER .
