On Bowling Green Marsh in Topsham this morning the weather was very dull & windy but this GREY PHALAROPE was showing quite well on the far side of the marsh .
Also seen on the marsh were numerous WIGEON , TEAL & SHOVELER , 2 Male & 2 Female TUFTED DUCK , a Male PINTAIL , a Male GADWALL & a Female RUDDY DUCK , & a SPARROWHAWK flew across the marsh spooking everything .
News of a WHITE FRONTED GOOSE on Exminster Marsh had me shooting off to see if it would still be there & I was in luck with the bird showing ! but quite distant , sorry about this shot of it but the light was very bad & this was the best that I could do .
There were also numerous WIGEON & a few COMMON TEAL & SHOVELER .
This morning Andy Bond & myself went over to Kilmington in East Devon to look for the reported Whooper Swan & on the way there we saw a Weasel that ran across the A 3052 , once we arrived at Kilmington & after a bit of a walk we found the WHOOPER SWAN showing well in with a flock of 30+ MUTE SWAN & in the trees in the area were 30+ REDWING .
Today I went down to Beer in East Devon to look for the SURF SCOTER that had been reported there & I managed to get views of it but the light was very bad & getting a shot of it was impossible .
Also seen were 20+ RAZORBILL , 2 GUILLEMOT , a GREAT CRESTED GREBE
7 FULMAR & a Female BLACK REDSTART that was flitting around the beach huts .
