Posted by Alison at March 30, 2006 3:38 AMA few years ago my tripod blew over in a sudden gust of wind at Yuba Pass (northern California). When it hit the pavement, the screw from the adaptor plate ripped out threads on the scope. I've since gotten another scope, but for a while resorted to electrical tape after Krazy Glue and JB Weld failed to do the trick. It already had an impressive dent from a similar incident in Texas in 2002.
