Just returned from three sunny weeks in Isla Plana near Cartagena. I don't know how near this is to you. Seen several Little white Egrets feeding (and I am sure one day - mating) on the shoreline. One Cormorant flew by and a group of fast-flying black and white birds with long legs skimming the water - about a dozen of them. Also saw a lone black and white bird on the rocks with long red legs and a long black beak. Thw weather this year was much warmer and the dawn chorus was very enthusiastic. I am sure the sparrows had an early morning committee meeting on our roof. The black birds sang in the trees around the pool area. All in all we had a most enjoyable time. My husband also caught a fair sized squid. We were on the Camping Los Madrillos site in a bungalow. We love Spain and are looking forward to retiring in a couple of years time. We are Hoteliers in Skegness bracing ourselves for the Easter holiday.
