Probably my best find ever was a juvenile female Araneus marmoreus on a roadside verge in Gloucestershire when I was 9! Had it since in Hampshire. Haven't counted an immature male A. alsine I found in Cornwall but he cannot be anything else - thankfully he is preserved! There aren't enough spider recorders.
