A trip to Middlebere

A good sunny day, ideal for photography. A quick detour to Canford on the frosty roads to look for Waxwings and then onto Middlebere.

Waxwings eating fallen berries.

Always a  Hen Harrier or two about.

A flicker of colour, a flitting Firecrest.

A pair of Black swans join the crowd.

Back in Poole, one of the Hatch Pond Bitterns.

Such great shots of the Bittern at Hatch Pond – well captured. Very co operative bird. For more shots my daughter has posted mine on her blog "My birding diary- Holes bay…" and was a tad on the envious side of the great views in day light.

It's going to take a lot to improve on the views we all enjoyed yesterday !
