One of those days when all you can see from the hide is an expanse of mud with a few Shelducks. Luckily a male Hen Harrier did a couple of quick flybys to liven up the proceedings.
What a contrast to last Sunday, today it was wet, dark and there was buffeting wind to contend with. At least four Smew and two Goosanders were on the lake, all of them redheads.
A contrast in size, Goosander and Smew.
