Leaving Ashton, we headed to the Byington Boat Launch, where Steve had heard that there were Pinyon Jays at the feeding stations. I typically am not a big feeder watcher, but we saw a huge number of birds at the feeders on this trip. (The White-headed Woodpecker, the closeup of the Sharp-shinned Hawk, the Hummingbirds, and more) I am now a believer! One of my biggest target birds this trip was a nice male Western Tanager, full frame, posing for me. I got several here! I got more good shots at this stop than any other stop on the trip. Check out the slideshow at the bottom for more pictures!

Black-headed Grosbeaks were there in various life stages.

Bullocks Orioles were there too. The obvious males, a younger male, and less distinctive female.

Other exciting birds that came in were a Yellow Warbler, American Goldfinch, Lazuli Buntings, Cassin’s Finches, and a Fox Sparrow.

The hummingbird feeders were active too! Only 1 Black-chinned and several Calliope Hummingbirds, but I got some nice shots.

I have so many pictures, that I put them in a slideshow so that I could show them off! Check them out!
