Left Overs

Its feels a bit unfair referring to these birds as left overs as the silver grebes are probably my favourite of all.

Mothers and their young

This is the section my girlfriend will appreciate the most. The Kodak was faithful again

Female Upland Goose and young

Falklands Flightless Steamer Duck and young

Kelp Geese Goslings

In this photograph i was walking along and the mother flew up in front of me (they blend in to the native pasture well),i can assure everyone seconds later she was back with them and was not distressed. Upland Geese are numerous in the Islands but this is the first time i had seen the goslings hatching in front of me.

Saving the best till last this Kelp Goose gosling was doing its morining workout!!

Birds of Prey

I have attached some photogrpahs of some "Bird of Prey" species in the Falkland Islands. I was incredibly lucky to get the Peregrine Falcon shot driving past Darwin one day. The Variable Hawk sat nicely whilst out at the Malo River trout fishing last year. Whilst the Striated Caracara is easy to capture (show off in front of camera) there is something about it that keeps you entertained. The were again captured with the kodak.

Penguins

To start the blog i thought i would show some of the photographs taken with my old camera a Kodak easyshare Z740. All pictures are taken on Sea Lion Island (managed by mother) with the exceptions of the King Penguins which were taken at Volunteer Point.
