Holland Park West

Thursday, March 22, 2007. Morning walk around Holland Park West, Brisbane, Australia. Today, Shita & I begun our easy walk, starting from our Palm Avenue address. As soon as we came out the house, we saw Noisy Mynas were chasing King Parrot. This was our first record of the  species around the house yard where we stay. Some other birds flying and enjoying morning sun were: Rainbow Lorikeet, Australian Magpie (Black backed), Magpie-Lark, Pied Butcherbird, Torresian Crow. As we walked away from the house, we saw a single Pale-headed Rosella, single Willie Wagtail and 2 Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike and a couple Common Starling (an introduce species). As we walked down more to Ekibin Creek, we saw 4 Blue-faced Honeyeater, more Noisy Mynas, single Straw-necked Ibis and 4 Gallah flying our head. To add to our list, few days earlier, we had a couple of Tawny Frogmouth roosting at the front yard.
