Did you see the Osprey yourself? Do you know the times it was seen at Knowsley and Prescot Res.
I saw it at Ruskin at about 9.15. It flew across the car park, mobbed by gulls, circled above the school for about 3 minutes and then headed off towards the reservoirs. I got the impression that it had come from Carr Mill, not from Prescot Reservoirs.

You might also be interested to know, that if you get a map and draw a straight line from the centre of Carr Mill to the centre of Prescot Reservoirs, it goes right through Eccleston Mere, and more interestingly, goes right down the centre of Ruskin Drive for it’s entire length. I often see Common Terns for example, flying along Ruskin Drive (it’s almost a daily occurance -three sightings yesterday evening).
