I took a late evening walk round the pool this evening and was rewarded with a singing Lesser Whitethroat in the trees and shrubs at the north end of the pool. The list for this evening is somewhat short: Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat 2, Yellowhammer 2, Chaffinch 5, Goldfinch 3, Linnet 2, Great Crested Grebe 2, Tufted Duck 11, Coot 5, Little Grebe, Swift 7, Swallow, Sand Martin 3, Magpie 2, Carrion Crow, Blackbird 12, Little Owl and Song Thrush.

I spent a very cold hour at the pool this evening and bumped into Ian Crutchley. The list for tonight: 2 Yellow Wagtail, 5 Wheatear, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Swift, 4 Great Crested Grebe (a record for the pool), 2 House Martin, 20+ Sand Martin, 100+ Swallow, 2 Bullfinch, 3 Linnet, 2 Chaffinch, Little Owl, 25+ Tufted Duck, 6 Coot, 2 Greylag Goose, 2 Canada Goose, 4 Mallard, Jay, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Wood Pigeon, 6 Goldfinch, 5 Yellowhammer, Common Sandpiper, Sedge Warbler and Blackbird.

Of the 5 Wheatears left this evening 2 were definitely Greenland and the others probably were too as all birds were very similar in size and Ian noticed other traits in the birds that suggested they were all of the Greenland race.
