Strange White Bird

Went to North Arm Friday afternoon after work with Trish to meet up with fellow birders Mike & Sue Morrison who had left with my daughter in the morning. The main reason for the visit was to look for a bird that had been described as a strange white bird with yellow wings.

Had a good look around the areas that it had been reported for the last couple of hours of daylight but no sign of it. Next morning I went out just after first light and after about an hour looking I found it in the company of a couple of Dark Faced Ground Tyrants and Falkland Pipit.

After watching it for a few minutes I went and got Mike & Sue who had brief views before it disappeared.

Late in the afternoon it was relocated at we had long close range views for a hour. We are almost certain that it is a partially leucistic Dark Faced Ground Tyrant.
