Southern Caracara

I went down the dump this morning to have a look for tagged Turkey Vulture, just the two tagged birds there 102 & 123 with about 20+ untagged birds. As per normal there were lots of Kelp Gulls & Dolphin Gulls hanging around for a free meal.

The variation in leg colours of the adult Kelp Gulls always amazes me they vary from light grey to bright yellow, below is a couple from today.

On the way back home I came across an adult pair of Southern Caracara.

Alan; was it definitley a Kelp Gull with those Blue Legs or could it have been a Blue Footed Booby from the nearby Galapagos ??

    See you in January ??
