167 Golden Plovers in the field next to the coast path near the Natural Arch, a regular wintering site. The flock also contained 19 Dunlins and another 3 Dunlins were in with a Starling flock in the same field. Year list 110

Ullswater, Lake District

AM a walk up the east side of Ullswater from Patterdale as far as Scalehow Wood, returning via Silver Crag

PM Patterdale to Angle Tarn, well above the snowline today

c150 Barnacle Geese with Canada Geese grazing the lawns of the Ullswater Hotel [the Inn on the Lake]. Not necessarily a feral flock: the Solway isn’t too far away and they did look kind of wild. Year list 105
