Last weekend, Andie accompanied Sarah and Max on a Wallowa County expedition.
She explored the edge of a huge glacial lake.
Max and Sarah drove around ranch country looking for birds. Every few miles, Andie jumped out of the car to check out the terrain and chew on some new species of grass.
We stayed at a cowgirl-themed bed and breakfast where Andie quickly got into character, with a little help from her people.
She also made a horse-friend! Babe the Buckskin was very friendly and eager to sniff the dog, just like Clark the Cat.

Andie was very vigilant while outside the house.

There were many sights and sounds to monitor in the open country.

She waded the river, but refused to join Max for a swim.

Crunching a stick on a log. Always fun!
Learning about the 50th parallel with Max
Posing at the parallel with Sarah.
Tidepooling at Campbell River. The slippery rocks were tough to navigate.
The sandy beaches were much nicer. They even had ochre seastars.
Rock-hopping on the Campbell River, in search of a salmon.
Swimming in the Straight of Georgia. Not her favorite activity.

She covered Sarah in sand.

Last year, Max, his mother Susan, and Andie visited Cathedral Park under the St. John’s Bridge. You can’t tell from the picture, but Andie was whimpering at the time.
After leaving Newport, Andie found a bridge that was much more to her liking. It was a nice and quiet footbridge over Beaver Creek at Ona Beach State Park. Max and Sarah enjoyed the bridge as well.
Andie and Clark interacted peacefully most of the time. Towards the end of our stay, however, Andie grew tired of the cat and began to actively screen her people from Clark’s advances.
Max found some large, wavy pieces of kelp that Andie loves to grab and thrash about.
When a dead bird was found, Andie began to dig a resting depression, kicking sand towards Sarah and Max.
