Those members who use the email group archives (http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/) will have noticed that no new messages have been archived since Nov 18th. Over the past 6 months, we have seen an increasingly poor speed performance, which culminated on the 18th with a heavy server load that affected other parts of the site. We decided to stop the archives from receiving new messages until we could troubleshoot the problem.
We know it's a useful resource for many of you, especially as we approach the holiday season and you might be planning out of area trips. We are working on the situation and hope to have the archives up soon and running faster than ever.
