Hi,
I have just joined although I have been a "lurker" for several months. I am a retired schoolmaster having taught, Pe and English. Now I am travelling the world with my wife. Next trip to Brazil and I am still trying to make contact with anyone in Manaus who could help with a half days birding on March 14th this year!:certifiable:

Hi pelecanus, thanks for the intro and welcome to the forum.

We used to have a Birders' Addressbook which we now want to move over to a more robust members' map. We encourage all our readers to add themselves to the map. I did a quick look through our old database and came up with following names that may still be valid at the time they said they were willing to help visitors but they may have a guiding fee:

Paulo Boute website (http://www.boute-expeditions.com/)

http://www.surfbirds.com/media/addbookphots/arara_surfbirds.jpg Douglas Fischer website (http://www.ecoexplorer.com.br/)

http://www.surfbirds.com/media/addbookphots/birder.png Carlos Perez website (http://www.pantanaltours.com.br/)

Rafael Brandeleiro website (http://www.pantanaltours.com.br/)

Fernanda Melo website (http://www.caiman.com.br/)

Have you tried Guided Birding (http://www.guidedbirding.com/)? - they have 5 contacts in Brazil. Best, Andy
