Best time to visit Ethiopia

Anyone could help me to find useful informations on the best timing to visit Ethiopia? I am planning a 3 weeks trip this September but not sure if the season is fine. What are the conditions in the country that time of the year? We mainly visiting Rift valley and the lakes as well as the highlands.

Any comments would be appreciated. :ohdear:
