I hadn't noticed this article until after I posted some Bald Ibis video here. (http://surfbirds.com/video2/video.php?page=1&viewtype=detailed)
Apologies for the quality, it seems to have lost something at the conversion stage.

Hi Dave, cracking footage. Looks like you can get pretty close to these birds?

Thanks again! There's a story behind this but I'll make it brief. I was in the back seat while my mate drove the hired Fiat looking for these birds north of Tamri. I had seen them before but my mate Charlie hadn't and we were running out of daylight. Just as we were about to give up he noticed one bird close to the road and pulled into a convenient off road parking area where we saw the rest of the flock. I filmed from the back seat while he positioned the car in the direction they were walking and the results are there to see! One of my best birding moments ever at a time when life in general was pretty damn difficult.

Brill video Dave. What gear are you using for this sort of shooting?

Thanks Colin, I was using a Sony Digital 8 camcorder with a 5x lens adapter reducing the quality somewhat. I now use a Canon XM2 3CCD and I am (still ) waiting for delivery of a Sony HDR-FX7.
I may attempt a different compression option to get better results when I have some time, you stills boys have it so easy.
