Went up to norfolk today... i have to admit not the best day birding ive ever had (Got the sparrow the weekend before). Managed to get the tundra bean geese at welney on the way up (but we dipped the great white and the crane). We also got the great grey shrike at roydon common. We went over to terrington marshes for the richard's pipit but found nother better than a hybrid pink foot x ross's/snow goose. Does anyone know how you can tell weather something has crossed with a snow goose or a ross's goose?? After that we didnt have alot of time left so we decided titchwell should produce something... i was wrong! The water level was very high with the best birds being a flock of 10 spottedshanks. Hopefully next weekend will be better as we might attempt to go for the pacific diver in wales!!!

Hi Andy, sounds like it was a bit of a hit and miss weekend. Did you go for the diver?

Unfortunately i didnt go for the diver. (2 weeks time if its still there). Instead we went for the wallcreeper. But after getting the boat across to france, when we was about half a mile from the french coast the boat couldnt land as the rough sea had broken a part of the boat. So after all this, we had to turn around and go back to dover (5 hour's we spent on the boat)!! But next sunday we may try again??

wow Andy that's commitment - hopefully the wallcreeper will be around for a few more weeks - good luck if you go again.
