I will be posting quite a few pics on the general European gallery in the next week or so ( trying not to hog the page ! ) of Redpolls, Siskins and Goldfinches and other stuff, done through my room window. Keep an eye out for the different (or same ! ) perches with various backgrounds and notice the different effects created. All good fun.!

John,
Last year I spent some time collecting "branches" to put up near a bird table/feeding station, got some unusual shots at strange angles, but had great difficulty in finding suitable shaped branches.
For a "background", I tried to set the perches up infront of different coloured bushes, ie golden fir trees, green shrubs, and smoke bushes (a purple sort of colour), these natural backgrounds were way out of focus (long lens/wide aperature) and produce a sort of pastle coloured backdrop.
Give us a heads up when you put some images up ,interested to see.
regards
Firstlight.
