The third Pygmy Owl for the Netherlands (after a window victim and a mass-dipped individual in the north in recent years) was discovered yesterday near Eindhoven, in the south of the country. The quick deciders (or fast drivers) could see it on Sunday evening, but everyone else (who could fit it in before his job) succeeded to see it today.
It visited various (lager?) holes in the area, and must have held a winter territory for quite a while.

What a great bird. Some cracking photos on Euro Stop Press (http://www.surfbirds.com/cgi-bin/gallery/display.cgi?gallery=gallery11). Looks like it shows well.

What a magnificent bird...

Too bad it seemed to be disappeared after Monday...
