please help. I have recently moved to Port Elizabeth, South Africa fromEngland and there is a bird that visits my garden, which is olive green on the back, yellow breasted and has a black collar. It seems to mimic telephone rings and when it calls, it puts its head right up and calls. Can anyone help me identify this bird.

Could it be a Bokmakierie? Bhis is a bush-shrike and often calls in the way you describe.

Thank you very much that is definitely the bird that has been visiting my garden over the last few days. I wonder if it's because I've started putting out fruit on the grass.
